Guidance is a new tool that has been developed by WSBI/ESBG in order to promote best practices and to facilitate the implementation of the Charter for Responsible Business in practice.
A Guidance Framework on Climate Change was the first in the series and was issued in December 2008. It outlines a roadmap for the implementation of a climate change strategy and action plan for a financial institution. It also presents a series of proposals that the members can select to address the risks and opportunities that climate change represent for their business. A Guidance on Fair and Clear Relations with Customers is the second in the series and was issued in June 2010. Fair and clear relations with customers is a traditional long-standing value and practice of the members of WSBI/ESBG. The rationale behind the Guidance is therefore to build on this traditional long-standing value and practice of WSBI/ESBG members in order to enhance their commitment to building, maintaining and enhancing a long-term relationship of confidence with customers. more...
