ESBG (European Savings Banks Group) is a non-profit European financial sector association, registered and located in Belgium. ESBG is regulated by two bodies: the General Assembly and the Board of Directors. The General Assembly consists of all ESBG members and meets once a year. The Board of Directors defines the general policy and meets at least twice a year.
The activities of ESBG are advised by a series of committees and taskforces, which cover topics ranging from regulation and supervision to banking technology and cooperation. A Coordination Committee ensures smooth coordination with ESBG’s sister organisation WSBI.
ESBG operates a Brussels-based secretariat headed by Chris De Noose, Managing Director. The internal organisation of the secretariat mirrors the three ESBG pillars of activity: Interest Representation, Training & Consultancy Services and Business Cooperation.
