The World Savings Banks Institute is looking for a (m/f):

RETAIL BANKING ADVISER, with a specific focus on the LATIN AMERICAN region

Main tasks:
Strengthen the WSBI’s involvement in retail banking issues:

  • Monitor international retail banking/financial policy and regulatory developments with a potential impact for the activities of WSBI members
  • Analyse the potential challenges and opportunities of these developments for the retail banking business developed by WSBI members
  • Build up a network of retail banking expertise within WSBI membership
  • Translate interests and positions of WSBI members into concrete lobbying/advocacy actions
  • Coordinate with the activities developed at EU level, by WSBI sister organisation, the European Savings Banks Group

Specific focus on Latin America:

  • Manage and develop a strong and active regional group of WSBI member banks in Latin America
  • Advise Latin American members on regional and international matters of potential impact and interest for their activities
  • Ensure the visibility of WSBI and of its members in Latin America, and expand WSBI membership in the region
  • Advise WSBI Management on Latin American issues and coordinate with colleagues in charge of other geographic areas
  • Organise Regional Group meetings, and other events when appropriate
  • Contribute regularly to WSBI publications (newsletters, press-releases, specialized articles, website), write speeches, prepare presentations and produce concise reports for WSBI statutory meetings

Required skills and competences:

  • University Degree in Economics, Finance, Law or related fields
  • Advanced expertise in retail banking/financial services. An experience in the Latin American financial sector is an asset
  • Total fluency in written and spoken Spanish and English
  • Good knowledge and affinity with Latin American culture and values
  • Proven analytical and drafting skills
  • Ability to work in an international team
  • Relevant computer (Word, Powerpoint, Excel, Access) and presentation skills

This position is based in Brussels with missions to the Latin American region.

Communications Specialist

Job description:

He/She will be responsible for coordinating and developing a range of external and internal communication tools, including newsletters, website content, annual reports and other publications, proactive contacts with the press.

Profile:

  • Have a university degree in Communications/Journalism;
  • Minimum 3 years experience in communications and editing;
  • Knowledge of financial services/banking;
  • Excellent English, spoken and written. Other languages are an asset;
  • Enjoy contact-building in an international environment;
  • Enjoy writing and be able to ‘repackage’ technical information for non-specialists;
  • Have a sense of initiative, organisation and diplomacy
